3-D Spiked Eyewear For The Haters + Big Boxer Energy
Chrome Hearts x Rolex vintage watches, a summer of big boxer energy and an ode to Japanese denim
Welcome to ICYMI, an ad hoc edition of the Fashion Tingz newsletter that's part curated product guide, part events you need to know about, part fashion things you may have missed… and 100% a good time.
As an ex-fashion editor and personal stylist, I see a lot of cool fashion shit floating around the digital depths of the Internet.
Now, this stuff may seem kind of out there, kind of obscure, or kind of boring — it all depends on who you ask.
The mood of these curated guides will ebb and flow depending on whatever’s going on in the fashion realm, and whatever I’m vibing with.
Either way, it’s all that good good.
On today's agenda:
3-D spiked eyewear to block the haters out of sight
New York Yankee loafers for the zip code fashion dressers
Iced out, hip-hop jewellery exhibitions in New York
The best of London with the city's finest, Clint from Corteiz
And a ton more.
The Decked-Out Edit
Stüssy and Patta are back at it with a co-branding collection that includes a denim jacket, jeans, a graphic tee, and boxing shorts, themed around both brands and their mutual love of music. My eye is on the double denim, which of course sold out immediately *sobs*, but is a true MVP flex.
You know, 3-D spiked eyewear wasn't something I realised I needed until I came across this mirrored-lens design from Imi Studios. In my humble fashionable opinion, I think eyewear is the new focal point for many an outfit - and this is a design sure to get people talking and staring. Big glasses energy.
As I've gotten older, vintage watches seem more and more appealing. So much so that I'm thinking of starting my own collection soon... if and when my bank balance allows it. And the rare model vintage custom Chrome Hearts Rolex Submariner would be a great place to start.
Now this is a sneaker for all the sneakerheads out there. MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon’s X-ALP collaboration was leaked in May, and this is one of the duo's more subtle link-ups. For those who remember, Rihanna even wore their bright red collab during her Super Bowl LVII performance.
The Blacked-Out Edit
I'm not a native New Yorker, but I could be if I owned this pair of custom Dr. Martens x New York Yankees loafers by MÖGI. Now, if I wore these roaming the streets of Williamsburg, I'd probably get accused of being a try-hard. But I honestly wouldn't care because my feet would look too damn good.
I know I know, I've spoken about the Stüssy and Patta collab already in this newsletter so this feels like cheating. But I couldn't pass up the opportunity to spotlight these embroidered silk boxers and give them their own time to shine. After all, it's the summer of big boxer energy if you didn't know.
If AVAVAV isn't on your radar yet, then they should be. This brand has a knack for creating some of the most thought-provoking, and coincidently viral, fashion shows going. Their luxe streetwear collab with Eastpak that has a high-end gorpcore feel puts them within reach for the everyday individual.
For SS24, Puma and Coperni are welcoming us into their futuristic universe. Keeping their blossoming relationship alive, this time around the pairing has launched a full collection with items ranging from skin-tight aquatic-esque dresses to bodysuits, tees, tights and trainers. It's giving Y3K nostalgia.
You should stop by…
New York: the American Museum of Natural History has put on an exhibit showcasing jewellery from Pharrell, Tyler, The Creator, A$AP ROCKY and more. The Ice Cold: An Exploration of Hip-Hop Jewelry exhibit is the first of its kind to celebrate and commemorate custom jewellery made for rappers.
London, New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Paris: this event happened last weekend so even though you can't visit it anymore, I still think it's worth highlighting. Miu Miu gave female authors their chance to shine via a slew of “Summer Reads” kiosks in big cities, tapping into the power of BookTok IRL.
Brooklyn: if any hypebeasts reading this care about Stüssy and their archival looks, then I suggest you get yourself down to their archive store in Brooklyn open through June. Featuring vintage collabs and pieces from the brand's history, other streetwear players should take note.
Over on TikTok…
I want to do this to my black Ground sneakers but I am too much of a scaredy cat, but it could be a Wednesday Addams meets Y2K vibe.

After visiting Japan and getting my own pair at Betty Smith, I can safely say that Japanese denim is truly a vision of mastery and craft.
