Whether it's runway shows, magazine editorials, social media posts, street style, nostalgic trends, fashion news, brand collaborations, new collection drops or cool ad campaigns; ‘All The Vibes’ will be a place where I let you know all of the fashionable things that should be on your radar.
So sit back, relax and enjoy! Let's get into round #4.
A photographer I've had my eye on for a while is Mous Lamrabat, his cultural interpretations of fashion and the lens through which he views and frames his subjects is striking. His latest cover story with Pharrell for Vogue Arabia Man and his renaissance cover shoot for GQ Middle East are breathtaking.
Months after he left us, Virgil Abloh's impact is still managing to resonate and reach new heights. The Grammy Awards may have labelled him a ‘hip hop designer’ - *eye rolls* - but he was so much more, and these behind-the-scenes images from an Off White x Nike blazer campaign prove just that.
The Oscars this year were a talking point for reasons we all know that I won't go into, but something that was sidelined was the fashion. Jessica Chastain - who won best actress - in ombre Gucci was a firm favourite look of mine, along with Timothée-shirtless-Chalamet in his Louis Vuitton drip.
When you've worked in fashion for as long as I have, sometimes you can be guilty of thinking you've seen it all. Then something comes along that genuinely surprises you. Australian-Filipino photographer James Robinson's new exhibition ‘On Golden Days’ shows an exclusively Asian cast in stereotypically Old Hollywood aesthetics, and it's a thing of beauty.
I'm always here for a Grandad fit check, vibe game strong. So fresh, so fly.
In London the V&A museum has just opened their new exhibition, ‘Fashioning Masculinities: the Art of Menswear’. An exploration of gender-fluidity in fashion, Harper’s Bazaar UK produced a special collectors edition cover for their April 2022 issue to celebrate the exhibition's opening.
Dazed Fashion has done a round-up of all of the best silly little trends to come off of the AW22 runways, and some of my favourites are fuck off coats, what a sad little sleeve, bonkers belting and stupid catsuits. This is how we should be talking about trends going forward.
