Whether it's runway shows, magazine editorials, social media posts, street style, nostalgic trends, fashion news, brand collaborations, new collection drops or cool ad campaigns; ‘All The Vibes’ will be a place where I let you know all of the fashionable things that should be on your radar.
So sit back, relax and enjoy! Let's get into round #7.
Seeing the pictures of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling filming for their upcoming Barbie movie is pretty iconic. As this IG post so rightly says, seeing their ‘fit pics is more exciting than the Met Gala. And everytime I see their lycra-clad neon-hued toned physiques, all I can think of is the 1997 song Barbie Girl by Aqua. Did someone say “Come on, Barbie, let's go party”?
Bad b*tches wear Gucci, literally. The luxury fashion house has debuted their first ever collection for cats and dogs, something to give your pampered pooches that little bit of extra oomph next time you take them to the dog park. Serving as an extension of the house’s Gucci Lifestyle line, harnesses, collars, bag holders and AirTag cases can be mixed and matched and customised so pet parents can twin with their furry companions.
Designer Rachel Comey made a public announcement on her Instagram that she's no longer doing business with Uline, America's biggest cardboard box supplier, whose owners are high-profile Republican donors and outspoken gun owners. This is a move by a brand who's standing by their ethics and what they believe in, rather than the performative brand allyship we can be so used to seeing.
Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing guest-designed couture for Jean Paul Gaultier, and there were some major looks on show. The collection cleverly ripped off some of Gaultier’s most iconic fashion moments, such as the 1992 AMFAR Gala dress Madonna wore albeit a more modest version, it referenced the 1994 Les Tatouages collection converting the maison's fragrance bottles into heels and a dress, and it showed the power of collaborative couture by reimagining silhouettes in bold tones for the 21st century consumer.
Dazed and Calvin Klein have partnered on a series of LGBTQ+ short films titled Queer Lens, to explore the idea of chosen family and spotlight a new generation of queer filmmakers from across the globe.
I'm loving seeing the development of Kendrick Lamar and Louis Vuitton’s budding relationship. Lamar sat front row, next to Naomi Campbell nonetheless, as he performed live for LV mens Spring/Summer 2023 collection that paid homage to Virgil Abloh. The French fashion house also gifted Lamar with a pair of cowboy boots, and now I need them.
Matt Tyrnauer’s docuseries “Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons," airs on Hulu on July 14th. Sounds like this documentary will get into it all: the relationship between Leslie H. Wexner and Jeffrey Epstein, the corporate culture at Victoria’s Secret and how the brand managed to dominate the lingerie market in the US.
Nicole Kidman, Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa, Bella Hadid, Naomi Campbell, and Christine Quinn all walked for Balenciaga at their Spring 2023 Haute Couture show in Paris. Fan favourite Alexa Demie sat front row in an outfit I’d wear if I was a black widow, this brand's star appeal shows no signs of slowing down.
This Paper Magazine shoot is epicccccc. Singer-songwriter Ethel Cain chats to Jacqueline Codiga about her debut album, Preacher’s Daughter, and about growing up trans in the South. A beautiful shoot and interview full of love, hardship, hope and optimism, the photography and styling juxtaposes her religious upbringing with her new found sense of freedom and comfort in herself.
The versatility and ease of use when reaching for a pair of white sneakers means they become a wardrobe staple for men and women, without anyone having to think about it. Work outfit? White sneakers. Date night? White sneakers. Gym or school run? White sneakers. High Snobiety have curated a collection of menswear white sneakers that are worth having on rotation.
For British Vogue’s July 2022 cover shoot, editor-in-chief Edward Enniful talks to none other than the formidable Beyoncé. I'm on the fence about her latest song (don't come for me), but I thoroughly enjoyed her serving looks upon looks in this spread. Very much here for the Harris Reed silk corset and sequin leggings look while sitting atop of a gigantic mirror ball, and the gothic punk vibes that sees Queen B straddling a motorbike - the patchwork leather jacket by Junya Watanabe is a thing of beauty.
Off-White has collaborated with Church’s on a pair of oxford shoes, and I just don't get it. Why are there holes? What's the need? Okay, they are marketed as solving sweaty feet via the circular holes that are ideal for summer dressing, but c’mon. Hard no from me.
HighSnobiety have produced their biannual report that identifies key emerging brands and individuals defining fashion and culture, compiled in partnership with Lyst. Corteiz, Martine Ali, Angus Cloud and Hoyeon Jung are some of the names to watch.
VandyThePink customising Wallabee’s in a skeletal print, I likey. He single-handedly customises shoe designs and apparel, and gets more and more experimental each time.
My love for Zendaya knows no bounds, even though I haven't watched Euphoria yet. Yet. In a Josephine Baker-inspired shoot, styled by her ride or die stylist Law Roach, she graces the cover of the July issue of Vogue Italia and is glowing while she does so.
