Anti-Fatness In Fashion + Luxury Retail Is In Its Escort Era
The size-inclusive fashion discourse falls short, luxury podcasts upon podcasts and OG 'fit pic kings
Welcome to ICYMI, an ad hoc edition of the Fashion Tingz newsletter that’s part read/watch/listen recommendations, part places you need to visit, part fashion things you may have missed… and 100% a good time.
As an ex-fashion editor and personal stylist, I see a lot of cool fashion shit floating around the digital depths of the Internet.
Now, this stuff may seem kind of out there, kind of obscure, or kind of boring — it all depends on who you ask.
The mood of these curated guides will ebb and flow depending on whatever’s going on in the fashion realm, and whatever I’m vibing with.
Either way, it’s all that good good.
On today's agenda:
Fashion's political agenda and its plus-size blindness
Big hitter luxury houses jump on the podcast hype
Retail associates are in their side hustle escort era
And a ton more.

You should stop by…
Margate: from pop-ups to a permanent location, a Stüssy archive store has opened in Margate with major discounts and an extensive product range. It has become a TikTok streetwear attraction (surprise surprise), but it still looks like a good time where bargains are to be had if you rummage.
London: cinema inspires a lot of fashion stuff, from clothing to editorials to runway shows and more. SCRT is an independent British streetwear brand in London that collaborates with artists and creatives, and its subcultural language speaks to cinema buffs and movie novices alike.
Tokyo: when I visited Japan back in April/May, I visited Onitsuka Tiger's Ginza location near where I was staying and I was not disappointed — I walked away with a new pair of kicks, obviously. Its customisation station in the basement and Onitsuka Tiger café and coffee stand are a whole vibe.
Over on TikTok…
