April 2022: Best In Fashion
So much is always going on in the world of fashion, from celebrity outfits that go viral to new product drops and brand collaborations, the fashion clock is constantly ticking and it's intriguing to see what will come next.
As always, have a look at my favourite celebrity fashion, street style looks, and the new-in product drops/brand launches that I'm excited about.
Celebrity fashion
Chris Pine isn't someone who's usually on my fashion radar, but this springtime outfit is absolutely giving. Is it the embroidered overshirt with the gold chain underneath? Is it the carefully coordinated stripe trousers that match the shirt? Is it the navy Gucci loafers, gold watch and gold pinky ring? I don't know what it is exactly, but I'm here for all of it.
The Von Dutch fashion comeback isn't one I saw coming, but leave it to none other than Halsey to take us on a nostalgia-fuelled trip to the early noughties while out and about in West Hollywood. I'm all up for a throwback trend, these tattoo-inspired trousers take me back to my teenage years where I desperately tried to get my hands on a similar pair (I failed miserably). The purple furry hat hides a multitude of hair sins, and I want one immediately.Â
Pastel pink hair? Love. Baggy carpenter jeans embroidered with a cartoon logo? Also love. Manicure and gold chains, gold bracelet, iced coffee in tow while riding a skateboard? Here for all of it. I don't know much about Evan Mock, but I'm down for the skater vibes he's giving off. I see a lot of brands currently capitalising on this particular aesthetic, and this time round I don't actually mind.
Street style
I’ve been looking, and looking, and looking some more, for the perfect smart casual blazer for a while now. The type of thing you can wear out to dinner, or over a tracksuit so you look a bit more pulled together you know? Dalia Nsouli, one of my favourite Middle Eastern content creators, has found an absolute gem from a vintage market. I’m also really into clashing the blazer check with the snakeskin boots.
Biggggg LV drip going on right here - Aleali wears a Louis Vuitton jacket designed by the late and great Virgil Abloh along with monogram flare LV jeans by Nicolas Ghesquiere. Are you also seeing the big diamante encrusted Western belt? And the neon green peep toe slingbacks? Well damn, this is a fashion serve if ever there was one.
Melissa Wood has gone full leather Matrix mode in this Frankie Shop trench and Balenciaga sock boot heels, and this is why I'll always stand by the fact that you can't go wrong wearing a head-to-toe black monochromatic outfit. There's definitely something very cool, calm and collected New Yorker about this outfit.
New-in product drops/brand launches
I discovered @almost.on.time during the pandemic, and it's one of my favourite and one of the most innovative brands I've come across in a while. Kayla Sade reworks pre-loved garments, giving them a new lease of life in the form of modern corsetry and feminine silhouettes. This deconstructed and reconstructed Nike corset is one of the coolest pieces I've seen in a long time.
I'm a sucker for anything sparkly and shiny, call me a magpie if you will. I love all of the stones in these Frederick Grove rings, and I'll definitely be making a trip to Dover Street Market soon to see them in person.
I don't actually own anything from Prada. I know I know, shock horror (she says as she sobs silently). But if I ever was to buy into the brand, this tie-dye bag with gold detailing would be the first item I'd cross off my list.
What celebrity fashion looks have caught your eye recently? What street style trends are you going to try out, if any? I'd love to know what's on your fashion wish list, and any upcoming fashion releases you're excited about.
