July 2022: Best In Fashion
So much is always going on in the world of fashion, from celebrity outfits that go viral to new product drops and brand collaborations, the fashion clock is constantly ticking and it's intriguing to see what will come next.
As always, have a look at my favourite celebrity fashion, street style looks, and the new-in product drops/brand launches that I'm excited about.
Celebrity fashion
Whatever you think of Julia Fox, just know she didn't come to play. She's known for calling the paparazzi because she's wearing an outfit that she thinks people deserve to see and I commend her for unabashed approach to dealing with the media. My favourite PFW look from her is this MotoGP inspired outfit, I can't figure out what I like more - the graffiti print leggings that run into the shoes or the cropped leather jacket that looks like something out of the Fast & Furious movies.
North, Northie, North West. The mini Kardashian is serving at Paris Haute Couture Week, and I love how she's gone all out goth and departed so far from the typical aesthetic this clan is known for. The nose chain is having a moment, the tailored matching waistcoat and wrap skirt paired with a white shirt and skinny black tie is what I imagine they wear in elite boarding schools in LA, and the knee-high lace up boots deserve to see some stomping action.
I don't know much about Kaia Gerber, nor do I care too, but I do know that she's perfected the art of the off-duty effortless supermodel with a laissez-faire attitude. I'm all for a pair of New Balance sneakers and I love how she's paired them with a mini tennis skirt and an oversized leather blazer, the socks and shades feel very Gen Z as well.
Street style
I'm embracing wearing white and ecru tones this summer, and I know New York based Danie Sierra always knows how to pull off these tones with ease. A classic grey tee tucked into a layered midi skirt, paired with white low-tops and ankle socks is definitely something I’ll be trying to emulate this summer.
Flowing silhouettes in a fresh white palette are the ultimate luxe look, and Middle Estern content creator Soha modestly dresses stylishly and with elegance. I like how she's left the trench coat unbuttoned from the waist down, which allows the maxi skirt (or dress) to subtly peek through underneath.
Johnny Cirillo - the street style photographer behind the @watchingnewyork Instagram account - captures the most insane NYC street style and I'm forever scrolling his feed for style inspiration. As I said I'm trying to embrace wearing lighter tones this summer, and this outfit gives me inspiration of how to pair bolder hues and prints with more neutral tones. I'd never have thought to wear white with black, but now I've been convinced.
New-in product drops/brand launches
Saw this pink dress from COS, lusted over this pink dress from COS, bought this pink dress from COS when it went into sale. Yay me. The recycled fabric has the perfect amount of stretch while allowing the material to sit nicely on the body, and the colour is bold without being too much.
I feel like hug rings would be a great alternative to traditional wedding bands if that's your kind of thing, and this 14ct solid gold number by Richard Chown has 9 names engraved making it the perfect sentimental piece of jewellery.Â
New-in high top dunks from Nike have me wanting to embrace my skater girl era, and I'm not mad at it. I also feel like this pair of trainers would fit perfectly in an episode of Stranger Things, worn by Max of course. She is it.
What celebrity fashion looks have caught your eye recently? What street style trends are you going to try out, if any? I'd love to know what's on your fashion wish list, and any upcoming fashion releases you're excited about.
