Hello - it's me, back here in your inbox! As always, I’m grateful to have you reading this newsletter once again as I get back into the swing of things. Just a heads up, here’s a few things that’ll be changing around here…
This newsletter will become more fashion, design, and style focused, with the occasional interiors and lifestyle post thrown in for good measure. Don’t get me wrong, if there’s a topic which doesn’t fall under any of these categories that I want to explore then I’ll definitely be doing that, I just want you to know what type of content you can expect from J’Nae Writes going forward.
Instead of weekly essays and opinion-led pieces, I’ll be reducing this type of content to a few articles a month. I’ll still be writing longer features on occasion, but I’m mixing it up and branching out so I can make way for different things I hope you’ll enjoy.
An idea I’ve been pondering for a while is a Q&A style post where I answer your fashion dilemmas and attempt to solve them. With over a decade of experience in the fashion industry (in a range of roles from fashion assistant to personal stylist), I’ve seen and heard a lot, and I want to put this knowledge to good use offering you style tips and advice, which I hope in turn will help to solve your real world fashion dilemmas. These Q&A questions can be deep and personal or lighthearted and fun - what puzzles I help you solve is going to be entirely up to you. My comments are open so you can send in any fashion fixes and scenarios you need assistance with, alternatively tweet me @JNaePhillips.
I love reading monthly round-ups, so I’ll be introducing some of my favourite things and what’s caught my eye each month in this newsletter. It’ll be predominantly fashion related; think celebrity fashion, street style, and new product drops/brand launches - what would you like to see? Does this sound good to you?
As the momentum of this newsletter grows (hopefully), I’d love to interview cool people doing cool things in fashion and across the creative industries. I don’t expect this to happen for a while, but if there’s anyone you think I should be talking to or anyone who’s brain you think I should pick, let me know.
Keeping up this newsletter is no mean feat. It takes time, energy, and a ton of work. That's why in the near future, I’ll be turning on paid subscriptions to ensure I can keep this thing going. Paying subscribers will receive exclusive content you won't be able to access anywhere else, and hopefully it'll be the start of an energised and collaborative community. Of course I’ll be keeping some of what you see on J’Nae Writes free each month, but when the time comes, it would help a ton if you'd consider becoming a paying subscriber.
Stay subscribed and look out for all of this glorious newness, along with some other cool ideas I’ll be trialing over the coming months (I don’t want to give everything away all at once so keep your eyes peeled for more surprises). The frequency of this newsletter may be a bit more sporadic as I continue studying a journalism postgrad and settling into a new job/career, but expect to hear from me at least a couple of times a month.
