Let’s Talk Fashion Tingz with NFSHE
A conversation with NFSHE about NFTs, digital fashion tokens and the possibilities of future-facing Web3 fashion
Tell your friends about Fashion Tingz. And their friends, and their friend's friends.
Web3 fashion, metaverse style, NFTs and digital tokens are having a moment. When the word NFT first stepped onto the scene it was the hot topic on everyone's lips - it was even searched more than crypto in 2022 according to Google Trends.
Virtual style and new technologies are changing the way people think about and engage with their favourite fashion brands, and the arrival of digital fashion experiences is making way for future-facing labels to shake up the way people think about shopping and buying clothes.
One brand hoping to disrupt fashion ownership and authentication is NFSHE. Born out of an interest in learning, connecting, and empowering fashion connoisseurs through blockchain technology and NFTS, it's creating a new type of fashion experience full of infinite possibilities.
Meet the founder of NFSHE.
I'm Eliza and I founded NFSHE - an accessories brand that makes physical products tied to digital tokens.
I started my career working in the traditional fashion industry where I gained experience in design, production, marketing, and buying. But when I started studying NFTs, I immediately saw ways that technology could help with authentication in the luxury space.
That was the moment I decided to take the leap and create my brand that empowers Web3 adopters with style and technological advancement in mind. I truly believe the future of luxury and commerce will be supported by blockchain technology.
For people who find blockchain technology and NFTs confusing, can you break it down in a way that makes sense to those of us who aren't in the know…
Let’s start with the fact that blockchain technology offers a way to verify, record, and store data. It is a digital ledger maintained by a network of computers rather than a central authority.
The design is more decentralized than the current web and intends to offer users control over their data. NFTs are a type of digital asset that is stored on the blockchain.
NFSHE fits into this by utilizing NFT technology in combination with physical products.
And what does all of this have to do with fashion?
The concept of using blockchain technology for verifying products is becoming increasingly important with industry-wide authentication concerns.
NFSHE functions as a business model example for how brands can build products on-chain to protect against counterfeiting.
This allows customers to experience more confidence when shopping, especially in the growing consignment space.
Okay so now we've got all of that cleared up, why is a fashion brand like NFSHE important now?
NFSHE is important at this moment in time because it demonstrates how blockchain technology can be used to authenticate physical assets and record related data and ownership.
This approach offers a new experience for customers and brand engagement, building trust, transparency and driving growth.
Seems to me like you're a tastemaker trying to do something a little different in an industry that often adopts a copy-and-paste approach. But how is NFSHE different to its competitors?
NFSHE sets itself apart in several ways. First, NFSHE connects digital tokens to its physical products. Each product in a collection is verified by an NFT, allowing the ownership and authenticity to be fully transparent.
Secondly, each item is associated with a number that corresponds to the order in which the item was produced in the collection, this is a new concept that introduces uniqueness to each piece.
The brand is also working to reduce barriers to entry for shoppers interested in entering the crypto space by utilizing Paper.xyz to allow customers to pay with a credit card and have a crypto wallet set up for them.
Additionally, along with the products, the events hosted by NFSHE foster great networking opportunities for community members.
Do you think the interest in meta-fashion is a trend that'll lose steam?
The interest in meta-fashion is only going to grow as the fashion industry on the whole is ripe for disruption.
Despite the volatility in the crypto market, people are still hard at work creating innovative crypto-native solutions to address all kinds of problems.
With regard to onboarding skeptics, I think the key is going to be proving value. To me, this means focusing more on problems crypto can solve rather than speculating about future applications that sound cool but aren’t realistic.
I love the community aspect of NFSHE and the events you host. What's the thinking behind this and how has this helped build your brand?
Community building is a crucial focus of the NFSHE and the web3 industry. Hosting events that feature other entrepreneurs and artists establishes a platform for collaboration and the exchange of ideas.
We want our customers to feel a part of something bigger and our events have been a great way to achieve that and have led to many collaborations and business opportunities.
Tell me more about the future vision for NFSHE. Where’s the brand headed next?
NFSHE aims to be at the forefront of the intersection of fashion and NFTs. We plan to continue to expand our product offerings, collaborate with others, and keep pushing use cases for blockchain technology.
We are also looking to continue to expand our community and audience through more initiatives that foster creativity.
Ultimately, NFSHE wants to help shape the future of fashion and empower the next generation of creators and consumers to engage in a meaningful way.
