Here we go again, back at it with another new type of post!
In an effort to bring you new content that you want, in different formats that are easily digestible, I bring you my latest offering ‘September 2021: Best In Fashion’. This will be something I’ll be aiming to do on a monthly basis, full of my favourite celebrity outfits, street style looks, and new-in product drops/brand launches that I think are worth bringing to your attention.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, lets get into it…
Celebrity fashion
My personal fashion icon, badgalriri, in oversized ripped denim with tracksuit bottoms underneath - game changer. Also the halter neck bandana top, headscarf, blacked-out sunnies and red lipstick are a vibe. How does she make things no-one else would ever think to wear, things that no-one else would ever dream of wearing, look this cool?
Katie Holmes in this simple black and white ensemble just proves that some outfits never go out of style. I like how she left most of the shirt buttons open for an updated styling trick.
Singer and now Versace runway model Dua Lipa is showing us how to transition from summer to winter wear in fine style. The tartan mini skirt and thigh high boots? Here for it. The chic (but unnecessary) strap across the gorgeous shoulder-padded tailored coat? Now on my wish list.
Street style
Fashion extraordinaire, and my old boss, Jamie-Maree Shipton killing #LFW in this in this tonal tie-dye printed number.
Gabriella Karefa-Johnson radiating nothing but good vibes at #MFW - big big fan of this dress she’s wearing from her SS22 capsule collection with Weekend Max Mara.
If ever I need some colourful outfit inspo, as well as a subtle but no-so-subtle beauty look, I check out Mi-anne Chan’s IG feed. I’ve been a lover of the colour green lately, and this Bernadette Antwerp dress is a piece I’d love to get my hands on.
New-in product drops/brand launches
Harlie Briggs is an abstract artist and designer & upcycler of vases, and has turned her talents to clothing with this chic printed shirt that features the female form (I tried and failed to buy one as it sold out super quickly).
I love a matching tracksuit set (who doesn’t?), and Maria Gulina make this really cool set with love hearts that have tiny little devil horns on them.
One of my favourite influencers Emili Sindlev collaborated with Bettina Vermillon and I can imagine myself pairing these killer green knee-high boots with an oversized tee, chains, and biker shorts.
Red carpet looks (bonus)
Not every month gives us read carpet fashion to gawk at, but September was back-to-back with events that called for a little more effort than your typical everyday attire…
The icon that is Michaela Coel in this Christopher John Rogers dress, styled by Zerina Akers on her historic Emmy-winning night.
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly at the MTV VMA’S are the rock’n’roll fashionable couple I never knew the world needed. This Mugler dress though… Megan styled by Maeve Reilly.
Anya Taylor-Joy pulled out all the stops at in this Dior Haute couture gown complete with Tiffany diamonds for the Venice Film Festival. I want her embellished mini beret for sure, but I’d end up wearing mine to the supermarket. Styled by Law Roach.
What do you think of this new shorter fashionable format, do you like this ‘best in fashion’ post? Are these looks giving you outfit inspiration? Or do you just enjoy seeing what others are wearing?
