Year Of The Dragon Fashion + Canadian Tuxedos Level Up
Double denim going strong, streetwear stores are in their luxe era and fashion LinkedIn pops off
Welcome to ICYMI, an ad hoc edition of the Fashion Tingz newsletter that's part curated product guide, part events you need to know about, part fashion things you may have missed… and 100% a good time.
As an ex-fashion editor and personal stylist, I see a lot of cool fashion shit floating around the digital depths of the Internet.
Now, this stuff may seem kind of out there, kind of obscure, or kind of boring — it all depends on who you ask.
The mood of these curated guides will ebb and flow depending on whatever’s going on in the fashion realm, and whatever I’m vibing with.
Either way, it’s all that good good.
On today's agenda:
Hand-embroidered tote bags that'll have you in your dragon era
High-low denim that levels up the Canadian tuxedo
Souped-up streetwear store openings for hype girlies + guys
LinkedIn be bringing in the big big fashion jobs
And a ton more.
The Luxe Streetwear Edit
According to the Chinese zodiac, we've just welcomed the year of the dragon. And this hand-embroidered denim dragon tote by PROLETA RE ART combines Japanese boro techniques and vintage processing to create one-of-a-kind pieces like this. This is the best dragon design I've seen yet.
The second instalment of the GANNI x Ace & Tate collab is really, really good — or maybe I'm just a sucker for their product imagery and campaign visuals. Either way, I'm into it. And I'm particularly fond of these brown-toned rectangular cat-eye Sadie Sunglasses made from recycled acetate.
These three-toned brushed leather boots from CAMPERLAB are not what I expected from the brand, but I'm here for it. I imagine this is the kind of thing a stylish Bilbo Baggins from The Lord of the Rings would wear if he ever made it out of The Shire and to a party with the elves.
Is Fear of God true American luxury? You'll have to wait until another newsletter to find out. But I will say this, the feel of FOG's Collection 8 will have hypebeasts drooling and Succession wannabe's clicking add to cart faster than their Amex can handle. This toffee brown faux fur coat is very me.
The Denim Edit
Stüssy has the art of transitional dressing down to a tee. Its SS24 collection shouts and whispers its signature SoCal vibe. The indigo denim logo print jacket and pant set caught my eye, it's the type of thing I'd wear when driving my vintage car to the beach in LA… if I could drive and lived in LA of course.
If you want to wear something that gets people talking or makes them stop and stare, then I'd highly recommend you check out sex-positive brand Carne Bollente. While some designs are made to get tongues wagging (literally), their crisp white tees with scenic sex illustrations are a little more subtle.
I'm a big fan of The Frankie Shop, I have several pieces from the brand in my wardrobe as they make the kind of staple pieces that are on trend but will ultimately stand the test of time. I've got my eye on this pair of Gatlin Color Block Jeans as they're very Parisian-meets-New-York-cool-girl-chic.
So, I saw this panelled denim midi dress with an asymmetric hem and raw-cut edges and I'm as surprised as you probably are to find out that this is from COS. Yep, this isn't from a vintage store or premium label, it's from a high street retailer that, you know, is trying to be cool. Regardless, I like it.
You should stop by…
Seoul: British streetwear brand Palace is putting on its big boy pants and going global. I discovered they opened a flagship in Seoul after seeing it on Peggy Gou's IG stories. It's an East-meets-West retail space combining the brand's signature elements with design inspired by a Korean palace.
New York: Kith know good store design. I've visited their NYC Soho location and their boutique in Paris, and both stores were curated really well — maybe a standalone London flagship next? Anyway, they've just opened a dedicated Women flagship store in Manhattan that also has a cafe and a flower shop.
Over on TikTok…
Green, green and more green. As New York Nico said, protect @greenladybrooklyn at all costs.

Did you know LinkedIn could get you a job at Versace? Well, only if you're Salehe Bembury. Duh.

Thug Club x Fila Korea's collab was unexpected, a little OTT, but where creativity was allowed to run free. More of this, please.
