Zuckerberg's Glow Up + Magazines Aren't Dead
Silicon Valley's tech bro rebranding, the digital identity personal style crisis and MAGA fashion shows
Welcome to ICYMI, an ad hoc edition of Fashion Tingz that’s part read/watch/listen recommendations, part places you need to visit, part fashion things you may have missed… and 100% a good time.
As an ex-fashion editor and personal stylist, I see a lot of cool fashion shit floating around the digital depths of the Internet.
Now, this stuff may seem kind of out there, kind of obscure, or kind of boring — it all depends on who you ask.
The mood of these curated guides will ebb and flow depending on whatever’s going on in the fashion realm, and whatever I’m vibing with.
Either way, it’s all that good good.
On today's agenda:
Mark Zuckerberg and the style glow up no one asked for
Front row at MAGA fashion shows that baffle the internet
Print fashion magazines are back and better than ever
And a ton more.

Emily Sundberg of Feed Me interviews stylist and fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, touching on everything from the difference between editorial and personal styling to staying original in an oversaturated market.
Brendon Holder of Loosey digs into Mark Zuckerberg’s current rebranding and the strategy behind what his new looks tell us. Let it be known, the tech overlords are updating their wardrobes in an attempt to appear relatable.
WATCH
Here’s an excuse for some fashion-induced screen time…
La Maison is a new 10-episode French language Apple TV+ series about a dysfunctional fashion family who’ll go to extreme lengths for control of a fictional French fashion house. It’s giving Succession but make it fashion, and it’s giving backstabbing, betrayal and general bitchiness — aka the good stuff.
This hurts my eyeballs to watch, but now that fashion month is a thing of the past, I can finally bring myself to talk about it. In case you missed it (and I sure hope you did) the GOP debuted a MAGA-inspired fashion show, with one Twitter/X user describing it as ‘the United States of Temu’. I rest my case.
I haven’t watched it yet, but my sources tell me that the Industry on HBO is worth sitting down and getting into. As a Londoner, I’m always down to watch anything that interrogates the British class system, but it’s the comparison to The Devil Wears Prada but make it finance bros that does it for me.
LISTEN
Plug in and zone out to these fashion gems…
Want to hear from an unknown luxury power couple? Asia Grant of It’s Called Taste talks to Jose, a watchmaker and horologist, and Jessica, a diamond dealer, who have both been in the industry for 10+ years. It’s a great insight into behind-the-scenes fashion things we rarely get to hear about.
I jumped for joy when I realised Yuji and Tim of Atlantis Vintage in Tokyo were interviewed for the Cant Not podcast, because I’ve visited their store IRL and it was truly a delightful experience. This Patreon episode explores how Japan has become the secondhand luxury capital and more.
I’ve talked about The Molehill on Fashion Tingz before, but it’s that good I’ve got to give it a second shout-out. Viv Chen has launched VIV’S VOICE MEMOS, the same good fashion stuff as usual but in audio form, and the first memo looks at Viv’s styling insights and the aesthetics of whiteness.

Milan: I’m not sure what your idea of heaven looks like, but I know mine looks a little something like this. Milano Fashion Library is stacked full of vintage and up-to-date publications about fashion and imagery, and it has declared itself “the most important fashion bookshop and library in Italy.”
London: I’m down for out of box fashion, because who wants to dress like everyone else anyways? In my hometown of London, a question STUDIO Ü often gets asked is “Why is nothing in here normal?” I, for one, am pretty glad they take an avant-garde approach to handcrafted one-of-a-kind streetwear.
Weil am Rhein: in Germany, the Vitra Design Museum is hosting the first-ever exhibition dedicated solely to Nike, Nike: Form Follows Motion, that charts the brand’s design history and ethos. Across tech, performance, sports and pop culture, the exhibit uncovers Nike’s rise to the top.
Over on TikTok…
Are fashion magazines dead? Absolutely not according to Fashion News guy Bernard, long may their reign continue.
