Welcome to Fashion Tingz.

Fashion Tingz is a space dedicated to unravelling the threads that connect fashion, trends, and culture.

The TL;DR of the thinking behind Fashion Tingz is this: a space where we peek behind fashion’s glossy facade, digging deeper into the goings-on of the industry at large. Mixed with a ton of insights, a future-facing outlook, and plenty of personal commentary.

We’re making fashion make sense.

Who writes Fashion Tingz?

I'm J'Nae Phillips, a London-based writer, trend analyst, brand consultant and cultural researcher.

I started Fashion Tingz as an outlet to voice my fashion-adjacent thoughts, but it’s evolved into something that's striking a nerve with a lot of people.

And I'm guessing if you ended up on this page, something about it speaks to you, too. So thanks for being here.

Show some love and support the grind.

Fashion Tingz is entirely reader-funded, which enables it to operate independently without being at the mercy of big publishers or advertisers.

Weekly free posts are published on Sundays and delivered straight to your inbox. They’re a mix of fashion analysis, cultural commentary, industry insight and news items worth noting.

Plus a ton more on Tingz Uncut — a corner of Fashion Tingz exclusively for paying subscribers. Think: digital zines, fashion insider interviews, subculture deep dives, trend debriefs, personal essays and more.

If you're here, I'm hoping you'll consider a paid subscription so I can build and keep this thing going. Prices are £50 for a yearly subscription or £5 for a monthly subscription — around the same cost as a cup of coffee.

Fashion Tingz is a reader-supported publication. Consider upgrading to a paid subscription to support independent fashion media and make more of this work possible.

When the next edition of Fashion Tingz lands in your inbox, reply anytime so we can keep the conversation going. I'm here and I'd love to chat.

I want to grow this thing and make sure everyone has a seat at the table. Giving readers a dose of new-age fashion media at a time when major publishers are crashing and burning.

We’re ungatekeeping fashion over here, and I hope you’ll join me for the ride.
